In the "last days" on earth a few were sounding the alarm as the globe got warmer in the midst of many adulterations and abominations. Some warned that a "Titanic" disaster lay just ahead. Many spiritual leaders remained deep asleep as the storms came and the winds blew. It was out of this confusion that there arose...

A TALE OF TWO
SHEPHERD (The
Good shepherd story)
It all happened during the last century of the second millennium after Christ. Two shepherds were watching over their flocks in two Christian churches in a great land called America. THE FIRST SHEPHERD taught his flock to have a deep respect for creation and how God put things together for the wholeness of man including his nutritional wholeness. He told his flock that in the beginning God created the world and saw that it was "very good". God provided a healthy food supply not only for the souls of His children but for their bodies too. Later "God so loved the world" that He sent His only begotten Son to tell us this and much more so we could have heaven right here on earth. The first shepherd led his flock to feed on natural whole foods grown without herbicides and pesticides as he taught them spiritual truths to fill their living souls with eternal riches that would last forever. He told them to show some respect for creation and use natural methods to control bad weeds and bad bugs so they wouldn't poison the very dust and water from which their bodies came...and much more. The first shepherd taught his flock to have the faith of a mustard seed to move mountains and he also told them to have the faith of a whole grain of wheat. He told them it wasn't the Rocky mountains that needed moving. It was mountains of degeneration and disrespect for the wholeness of life that needed moving. Whole grain faith would have the power to move mountains of disease and degeneration out of the path of their adult bodies and the bodies of their precious lambs. He told them about all eight fractions of the vitamin E complex and all fractions of the vitamin B complex found only in the germ and bran of the whole grain and not in most vitamin E pills...each fraction having its own specific biological function...and he told them about a few dozen more nutritional nuggets found only in whole grains. He taught them how to balance foods and food groups to keep the balance of pH and digestion in the body near perfect as it must be for perfect health. He even taught them how to make healthy foods taste good so the lambs (sheep too) could have their treats on occasion. Thus his flock enjoyed many key nutrients found only in organically grown whole foods and in whole grains and not in the white starchy constipating stuff...nutrients put there to help all body parts and systems work perfectly by the creative design of the living and loving God. As the first shepherd taught his flock to respect the wonder and wholeness of life his flock came to be ever more in awe of the length, breadth, depth, and height of the love of a God Who cared for His lost children enough to provide for their physical well-being as well as for the salvation of their living souls. In fact, "God so loved the world" that He created the original "fast food" called mother's milk that was species and family specific for every baby on earth! Just as Jesus loved babies so did the first shepherd. He emphasized that if mothers would eat natural and balanced whole food diets with a fair portion of fresh raw foods and sea vegetation for the minerals, then God would put in their breast milk a perfect balance of minerals and amino acids needed by a baby to develop a healthy body. This would include a big brain first with the big bones to come later. This was just the opposite of the balance of minerals and amino acids needed by a calf that developed big bones first and a much smaller brain later. The flock was in awe to learn that "God so loved the world" that He provided a perfect food for all newborn babies...not just the human babies but the cow babies too. But it had to be fresh! The original delivery system for human mother's milk honored the freshness and even included a very special and wonderful "bonding" between mother and baby that would serve the baby throughout its infancy and childhood. Healthy nursing mothers would develop a depth of love for their babies incredibly profound and wonderful just as God had for His own lambs. Later in life the tables would be turned as the babies, then adults, would have a heart to take care of their mothers in their old age. Gosh...how could God think of all of that? Could He really be that smart and that good? C'mon now. You see...in some flocks in the land there was mineral and amino acid confusion as doctors and "experts" said that you could mix up the mother's milk of different species. Why not give cow milk to human babies...it's all white stuff? Besides, bottles make motherhood more "convenient". If the lambs cried from too many tummy aches just stick them in another room, close the door, and "let them cry, it's good for their lungs". Of course this didn't happen to the mothers and lambs under the care of the first shepherd because He told His flock to take Jesus at His word when He said that God knew their needs before they did and provided for them here on earth just as He did for the "birds of the air" and the "lilies of the field". You see, the first shepherd had a heart for wholeness that came right out of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. This wholeness of life as taught by Jesus was 100% consistent with what doctors and scientists discovered when they investigated the lifestyles of the healthiest people on the planet. They found places on earth where people lived past 100 but looked and acted like they were only 50. They enjoyed a quality of health that most living in so-called "advanced" countries couldn't even imagine. They suffered few if any body pains and breakdowns even in old age. This along with hundreds of thousands of scientific studies showed a wonderful harmony in truth between these healthy human groups, the world of nutritional science, the word of scripture including Genesis 1:31; Psalms 103 and 104; Matthew 7: 9,10,11; and a truth written deep in the human heart...sometimes too deep. And so it came to pass that the sheep and lambs of the first shepherd were very healthy generation after generation joyfully singing praises to the Lord their God until they passed on peacefully in sleep at the end of a ripe old age. This was all consistent with a God Who "is love" and grapes growing on a grape vine and not on a thistle.
THE SECOND SHEPHERD THE SECOND SHEPHERD thought...I will take care of the souls of my flock but I won’t worry about what they eat. After all, didn't Jesus say to "take no thought for what you shall eat or what you shall drink" and "It isn't what goes into the mouth that defiles" etc. So the lambs were taught to sing "Jesus loves me" but the second shepherd let them wander the isles of supermarkets and feast on whatever the world wanted to feed them...and God bless them. Let the lambs eat cake if they wish...and let them drink all the high sugar drinks they want...and so they did. The sheep and lambs gorged themselves on these and many other sweet and permanently preserved trans fatty acid and chemical combinations and adulterations posing and packaged as real food. They ate mostly the white starchy part of whole grains separated from the germ and bran. The white powder was fumigated and distributed around the world as a “commodity” to make a few people very rich and a lot of bodies too heavy. The isles of stores came to be full of all manner of these and other nutritional abominations that had a long shelf life because even the bugs knew better than to eat them. What the second shepherd didn't understand is that "take no thought" only worked if nobody else was taking thought to mess up the wholesomeness of what God made and that Jesus said we could count on. If the love of money led to the perversion and adulteration of the natural and wholesome food supply that God provided for His children from the beginning...as the Bible says...then the "take no thought" idea would no longer be a pathway to wholeness. "Take no thought" would then become a sure pathway to pathology. Actually, by NOT taking thought for the nutritional welfare of his flock the second shepherd was letting them participate willy nilly in all the thought taking by those whose motive was money, not mercy. Where did that leave the flock? It came to pass that on the adulterated foods and drinks the rates of juvenile and adult diabetes skyrocketed as millions of young lambs suffered from ADD and ADHD and overweight and addictions and other problems resulting from all the nutritional perversions they were allowed to feed upon. Millions were put on drugs as their tortured young bodies and minds tried to make sense out of life. Many of the lambs grew up believing that "in the beginning God created heaven and earth"...and McDonalds. There were many other ways that the food and water supply of the flock of the second shepherd were made unwholesome by the thought takers. This included a system of farming used for 100 years that added only NPK fertilizers back to the soil without replenishing dozens of important trace elements found in rich organic soils and in sea vegetation. Chemical poisons were used to grow foods that would seep into the very drinking water of the sheep and lambs and pollute their bloodstreams as it did the rivers and wells. Cruel factory farming systems arose with widespread use of hormones. All this was only the beginning of sorrows. Things would get worse. It came to pass that the rates of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and the rates of other degenerative diseases in the flock of the second shepherd grew higher and higher and attacked the flock at ever younger ages. Many "experts" among the flock thought all this was “normal” because the degenerative process had happened so slowly over a long period of time. Many also came to believe that it was only "normal" for there to be an abundance of hospitals, jails, doctors, and nursing homes in the land to apply the needed "fix" and to house the millions of sick and other forms of mental and physical breakdowns of society. Meanwhile the hi-tech medical and drug industries were very busy trying to come up with a specific fix for all the body and mind breakdowns. Business was very good. In fact, many made a killing on the sick. Few stopped to think what was behind it all. By necessity many came to worship the god of medical technology while ignoring the foundation of wholeness created by the true God of the living. This was all bad news for many sheep and lambs, but things would get much worse. More recently the adulteration of the human food supply in the land came to include scientific tinker toying with the very genes that carried the blueprint of life. Again, this was all for money, not for mercy. Many of the flock seemed not to be aware of what was going on. They could buy a tomato with the genes of a fish or a pig or a cockroach in it and eat it and not know it because the authorities did not require this to be put on the label. Imagine...in the process of creative evolution billions of years of genetic integrity were thrown out the window in the blink of a cosmic eye and this done in secret without a discussion or vote by most of the shepherds and the sheep of the living Christ. It was done so a few could fatten their wallets with no studies of the long term effects on human health or other life. The enormity of this crime began to make Judas, the betrayer of Jesus, look more and more like an angel. Of course in the midst of these abominations there was great distress and confusion about health and wellness in the land. Would more technology solve the problems or should the flock return to the ways of God? Would the flock learn how to use technology to make life better without making life worse by abusing its divinely established biology? Only time would tell. Meanwhile many sheep looked for an answer to this question from a pulpit and were often disappointed because few shepherds in charge of churches could be found to have a heart for the wholeness of life. If you didn't have a heart for wholeness you couldn't possibly teach wholeness since "Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks". Realizing that for the most part the drugs and hi-tech medical fixes only dealt with problems at a symptom level many sheep on their own began to seek out WHOLE LIFE NATURAL HEALING OPTIONS AS GOD MADE THEM . Many doctors broke ranks with other doctors and began to help people with natural God-made healing options...thousands of them. These "alternative" healing options were really much more foundational to the health of bodies and minds and addressed health concerns at a causative level and you didn't have to torture millions of defenseless animals to prove that they were "safe and effective" for human use. This was all good news, but would the return to wholeness come in time to save the flock from other manmade disasters looming on the horizon? Would shepherds of churches distinguish between technology that would bring peace on earth and technology that would bring the earth to pieces. You see, in these last days among major institutions including religious institutions in the land called America there could not be found even one major institution that taught and supported human wholeness as God made it and as Jesus taught it. While there was not one major institution teaching and supporting the wholeness of life there were a lot of major institutions supporting many adulterations and abominations of life either for money or power. These ranged from corporate factory farm interests to food processing and distribution interests to financial interests to chemical interests to medical and drug interests to media interests to transnational corporate interests to political and bureaucratic interests...and finally to higher educational interests that depended more or less on all the other interests. And so it came pass that there was a vast network of interests with a shared vested interest in first making the sick and then taking the sick. Many wondered how all of this could be happening in the midst of so many Christian churches in the land? After all, on almost every page of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, Jesus was healing the sick as He taught mercy and not sacrifice and reverence for life. He also warned of the consequences of having eyes that see but see not and ears that hear but hear not, and the danger of being caught sleeping when the Master returned at midnight. Meanwhile...as a few were warning of a "Titanic" disaster...others were having parties and counting their gold and weekly collections and going about business as usual just as the Master 2000 years ago said they would be doing in these "last days" of the last century of the second millennium after Christ. The second shepherd prayed for the sick of course as he failed to have the faith of a grain of whole wheat while preaching about the "faith of a mustard seed". Mountains of disrespect for the wholeness of life that needed moving weren't moving. They weren't moving because of a disconnect between the word of Christ and the heart of the second shepherd who didn't take Jesus at His word... "What man among you if his son asks for bread will give him a stone, or if he asks for a fish will give him a serpent? If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father Who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" And..."I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly". Jesus from the mercy of His heart of wholeness put His own life on the line to "heal the sick" on the Sabbath. He loved babies and little children so much He insisted on holding them whenever He had the chance. He taught many wonderful truths to those who had ears to hear. He showed us how a heart of wholeness actually works. He said that anyone who only gives a glass of water to just one of the least of His little ones "will not lose his reward"...and.. "Whatsoever you have done (or done not) to these the least of My little ones, you have done (or done not) to Me". Some reading these words do carry the words of Jesus and the spirit of the living loving Christ in your hearts. You are carrying your crosses following Him and may find some of this depressing. If you are tempted to feel helpless or hopeless about all of this remember that healing is only a thought away, and remember these thoughts that will not pass away... "With God all things are possible". "Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world..." "Because I live, you shall live too..." "I am with you always, even to the end of the age". "The words that I speak to you; THEY are spirit, THEY are life". And now we come to the end of this TALE OF TWO SHEPHERDS. The second shepherd followed the crowd and led his flock down a path of disease and degeneration like a tree growing with roots in shallow soil contaminated with thousands of poisons. With a weak foundation little wonder that so many diverse distresses and diseases arose at the leaf and twig levels of life that crossed all lines separating the social, physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions of human experience in a great land called America. The first shepherd however led his flock to build their house of wholeness on a rock. In following Christ and in planting the seeds of wholeness of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, he gave his beloved flock, with time and patience, a merciful infusion of life and healing power from both the ground up and from heaven down. With ever growing respect for creation and the Creator in their hearts his flock found NUTRITION-FOR-LIFE to be a Pathway to Wholeness...and so it was. He followed a Good Shepherd, and so he was a good shepherd. HELP WANTED! It is important that members of the clergy...especially those of Christian churches...understand that there is wholeness in life including nutritional wholeness. It is not enough to just look at the wonders of life and sing "How great thou art" to the living God of creation. The wonders of life need to be applied to the bodies of the children of God to make them whole too. Not to do so would be the most gross violation of all that Jesus spoke up for and stood up for so we could have an example to follow in standing up for ourselves...and our children...and theirs...and theirs. Disease and social distress are necessary wake up calls but it is important not to let the patient get too sick The Great Physician is now operating on the hearts and souls of men but the operation in progress could become quite painful for life on earth if the living Christ doesn't get more help at the ground level. We must do our part too. God gives us free will to act or to ignore. "By their fruits you shall know them"...and by our "fruits" we shall know ourselves. What to do? First..."heal thyself". Second..."heal the sick". This is how it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Another way to put it is.. Be whole and help to make whole.
